Benjamin Haslem, Sydney

Ben Haslem is a former journalist with more than 25 years’ experience in media, corporate and crisis communications, providing strategic public and government relations advice at the highest levels across the financial services, not-for-profit, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, healthcare, legal, resources, defence, education, construction and ICT sectors. Ben possesses an acute understanding of both the mainstream media and strategic public affairs, having spent the best part of a decade working for The Australian newspaper – Australia’s sole national broadsheet – in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne before joining leading independent Australian public relations firm Jackson Wells in 2003. His experience and skills set bring a unique perspective to clients, helping them more effectively navigate relationships with customers, staff, suppliers, regulators, governments and other key stakeholders.

Prior to establishing Wells Haslem Mayhew in 2012, Ben was director and CEO at Jackson Wells. Ben has a Bachelor of Arts degree in politics and psychology from the University of Sydney. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Communication from University of Technology, Sydney.
